Other characters I play in-game: Eve (Black Cat) and Count Waltz (Eternal Sonata)
[ CHARACTER INFORMATION ]
Name: Aqua
Age: Never stated in canon, but probably somewhere between 17-19.
Gender: Female
Fandom: Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep (game)
Timeline: Post-game, specifically a significant amount of time after she fell into the Realm of Darkness to save Terra and after the scene where Terra and Ventus' Keyblades save her, but before she meets Ansem the Wise at the Dark Margin in the "Blank Points" secret ending.
History: http://kingdomhearts.wikia.com/wiki/Aqua
Character Personality:
A serious, strong-willed young woman whose sense of right and wrong never wavers, Aqua sometimes gives the impression of being aloof to those who do not know her well. But she is neither cold nor distant. In fact, she feels very strongly for those close to her and has a kind heart. However, Aqua hardly shows too much outward emotion except when in situations involving her friends. Coupled with her strong sense of responsibility, Aqua is a reliable person. She is also hard-working and driven, as can see by the way she has worked towards her dream of becoming a Keyblade Master.
When around her two best friends, she acts like an older sister figure: gentle and always fretting over the two people she thinks of almost like brothers. The only time she's ever acted in anger were when her friends were being hurt or slandered. Her friends are her strength, and even when certain occurences may cause her belief in them to waver a little, ultimately she will never stop believing in them. This belief in her friends is what gave her strength to keep looking for a way out of the Realm of Darkness instead of just giving up. This is why, she gets along well with almost anyone who values friendship or who treasures the people around them.
Though strong-willed, she's willing to listen to other people's ideas and thoughts, and she is not quick to jump to conclusions. For example, since she left the Land of Departure to embark on her journey, she has learnt that the way to fight darkness may not be by using the light, which was what her teacher had taught her, though she's not sure yet how you should fight it then. But, as mentioned above, her belief in her friends is very strong. It would take some very damning evidence to mkae her believe something bad of them, and even then, she will likely ask her friends for confirmation themselves. If they deny having done it, she would believe them.
Also, despite having achieved the Mark of Mastery, Aqua does not think of herself as a master of any kind. Instead, she constantly tells people that she is still a learner. In fact, since receiving the title of master she has only referred to herself as "Master Aqua" once, and that was against the man who had led her friend down the path of darkness and stolen his body. This is not self-deprecation, but humility, because Aqua knows that there is still much that she can learn and, master or not, it is important to acknowledge that.
Most of the time, Aqua seems mature beyond her age, but if she becomes embarrassed will stammer and blush and, if being asked for a date, would cite her responsibilities as an excuse and maybe even try to run away.
Character Abilities:
Aqua had the ability to summon a powerful weapon known as a keyblade. In addition to other things a normal weapon can do (i.e. hitting things), it also gave her the ability to unlock everything from doors to hearts to worlds. She was also gifted in magic, and in tandem with the Keyblade could cast powerful offensive magics of many different elements.
After using certain spells, her Keyblade becomes temporarily imbued with the magic she casts and this allows her to unlock an ability known as a Command Style. The three Command Style she possesses include Spell Weaver (using the power of light to make herself hover, allowing her to use a more acrobatic style of fighting), Ghost Drive (utilizes highs speeds and after images to make it seem like she's teleporting) and Sky Climber (uses magics that manipulate gravity to allow her to attack by riding on her Keyblade in mid-air). Connected to her ability to wield a Keyblade is the ability to see when a person's heart has been tainted by darkness, or if it is full of light.
Even without the Keyblade, Aqua is still capable of casting charms onto objects.
Due to her training to become a Keyblade Master, Aqua knows how to fight and is physically fit. However, her style has always relied on agility and spell casting more than brute force. Her training also left her with remarkable self-control, especially over emotions that could breed darkness like jealousy and anger.
Character Weaknesses:
The fact that her magic will be taken away in Shibusen means that Aqua will need to give her fighting style an entire over-haul unless she can find herself a magic-based Weapon. Even before this, her reliance on spells meant that if for some reason or another she could no longer cast magic (i.e. fatigue, being unable to speak), she would be significantly weakened. After all, while she is skilled with using the Keyblade, she lacks the kind of physical power she would need to over-power larger enemies.
While she has not given up on escaping to darkness and returning to her friends extended time in the darkness has left her feeling a little depressed. Despite her best efforts, smiles are hard to find in a world of never-ending darkness and Heartless.
Her serious nature, coupled with the fact that she doesn't know how to act around people her age besides her two best-friends, makes her seem aloof. For that matter, Aqua's training also means that she spent most of her time training, and doesn't really know how to act like a girl her age and is always horribly awkward when she needs to.
Also, while she will never hesitate to defend a friend, she is not as quick to jump to her own defense verbally. Even with the people who have known her for practically her whole life, this has created misunderstandings and arguments.
And she will continue to believe in her friends. While this is a strength, it is also her weakness, because she will believe them even if there are indications that she shouldn't. For example, until the end, she still believes that her friend will overcome the darkness, even when he keeps showing trouble keeping it at bay (but...I guess she was right at the very, very end. But this was after Terra did succumb to the darkness...so yeah...)
[ WEAPON ONLY SECTION ]
Why is your character a Weapon and not a Meister?
Because I want to free up a Meister slot. While Aqua's fighting abilities and desire to protect people makes a Meister an obvious choice for her, being a Weapon puts her in a position where she can't push herself too far. As a Meister she's the one who's most likely to receive injuries in a battle which means that, in order to protect others, she may take risks that will end up getting herself hurt. However, as a Weapon she would be more careful since she's not the one who's more likely to get hurt and will actually try to talk her own Meister out of doing anything like that.
What is your character’s Weapon Form? Why?
She turns into her Keyblade, Stormfall. It's the upgraded version of her personal Keyblade so it makes sense that that would be her Weapon form.
What is your character’s Weapon Ability?
With decent resonance, Aqua's Weapon ability will give her Meister the ability to move at high speeds reminiscent of her Ghost Drive ability. What makes this ability powerful isn't just that the Meister becomes able to move more quickly but because it leaves an after image of the Meister, making it seem like they haven't moved when in fact they have. Also, it doesn't increase the Meister's speed over all, what it does is allow the Meister to move at incredible speeds for one moment, giving them the illusion of having teleported. This ability has limitations, however. Since the Meister is only given a very short moment where they can move at this speed, they can only move short distances using the ability. For example, they can not move all the way across the room using this ability I will henceforth refer to as Ghost Drive for simplicity sake. What they can do is activate Ghost Drive while in front of an enemy and, using the speed it gave them, to move behind or to the side of their enemy. Also, since they are, in fact, moving and not teleporting, they can actually be stopped by obstacles that are in the way (i.e. if their enemy is behind a barrier they can't just go through it). The number of times this ability can be used consecutively increases as Aqua consumes more souls, but consecutive activation of this ability will cause strain on Aqua.
[ SOUL INFORMATION ]
Soul Description: Loyal, kind, dedicated, serious, responsible, strong-willed.
Soul Appearance: Her soul is the same shade of blue as her Wayfinder, with shape reminiscent of her hair jutting out at the top shape and the bottom. The expression on the orb is a small frown. There seems to be a thin chain around it, and hanging from it is a much smaller version of her Wayfinder, the symbol of her unbreakable friendship with her friends.
[ SAMPLES ]
First Person:
[The screen flickers on to reveal a young woman with blue hair, who is leaning closer to the screen than necessary.]
Is it...on? Oh!
[She sits back, wearing a small, polite smile as she speaks in a neutral tone.]
I've heard that people from our own worlds could have been pulled here as well.
[There is a slight shift in her expression. The smile is still there, but there is something else to it. Could it be hope? Maybe. When she speaks, there is something warmer, almost hopeful and excited in her voice, though it is not very obvious.]
I wonder...has anyone heard of someone called "Terra" or "Ven"? If you have could you tell me where they are or if they're safe? Thank you.
Third Person:
How long had it been since she had fallen into the Realm of Darkness? Too long, it seemed. Too, too long.
There was no way for Aqua to judge how much time had passed there, in that place without light. There was no sun, or moon or stars; there was only darkness. The darkness that threatened to consume her as much as the monsters that lived there. Every moment she spent there, she could feel the despair and anger clawing away at her mind, trying to find purchase.
But Aqua wouldn't let it. She had a promise to keep, after all. No matter what happened, she had to find her way out of the Realm of Darkness. Her friends were counting on her, and they haven't given up on her so how could she give up on them?
But it had been so very long, Aqua thought, as she stared up at the ceiling. It was a real ceiling, not the endless black void she had become accustomed to. There were no windows, but there was so much more colour, so much more light in this one room than she had seen...in how long now? She wasn't sure how she got here, or if it was even real, but for the first time since her friends' Keyblades had saved her, she smiled again, even as tears she refused to let fall welled up in her eyes.
SECTION NO LONGER APPLIES SINCE SHE'S BEEN SWITCHED TO A WEAPON
[ MEISTER ONLY SECTION ]
Aqua is the sort of person who would do anything to protect the people around her, especially her friends. That's a part of what being a Keyblade Master is: protecting worlds. As such, if given the choice Aqua would prefer to be the one with the ability to step between people and whatever is trying to do them harm.
Meister Ability: Soul Levitate
